They quote a shaikh and a Muslim American leader to justify their presence at the White House Iftar saying that they would get a chance to talk to the power about issues that concern Muslims. The dumbest argument that you can ever hear and these are the people who are leading us in political and religious spheres. The powers know what they are doing. What is not not known to us is that we have not learned the right to dissent in a dignified manner. We would not allow tax dollars to be spent on a public relations exercise by the White House while civil liberties are at stake and military-industrial complex has been playing havoc with our national security and resources. A no to White House and Senate Iftar would at least give a sober message to the power elites that we Muslims do not identify with the policies of the current administration on civil rights and human rights. But you see all those who claim to represent Muslims will be there smiling and shaking hands and enjoying sumptuous dinner while crying to the community that Islam is in danger and Muslims have been suffering hunger and wars. Does any body really read the Quran that has a specific term for these people? Do I need to spell it out.
