They say Katherine is doing great and has made it out of the post - TopicsExpress

They say Katherine is doing great and has made it out of the post surgery “danger zone”. But yesterday she was just lying there not moving a muscle and could barely whisper an answer when shes asked a question. My poor babygirl. She got out of bed today for a few minutes which was good. The oncologist (Dr. John Crawford), who is top notch, came by yesterday and said several times that our neurosurgeon (Dr. Mike Levy) has Gods hands. In fact, Dr. Crawford moved from DC so he could work with Dr. Levy. He said no human could have possibly gotten more of the tumor out than Dr. Levy, he is the best. That was encouraging. Interestingly, the oncologist said he personally hasnt sat through a surgery for five years but for some reason Katherines case was so unique that it got his curiosity up and the timing worked for him to be in there. We know that reason is the massive prayers of the saints. The prayer request went viral due to Gods grace and our networks! Dr. Crawford said he still doesnt know what the tumor is. Its very unique so he might call it a Katherinenoma. We are just praying its not cancer. We are expecting the pathology report to come out in the next few days. That and getting out of the hospital will be the last big steps in this part of the journey. We will keep you posted. She might even be released by Friday! The neurosurgeon, Dr. Levy, stopped by today and is pleased with everything (except how far the scar goes down on her forehead). He said he was as aggressive as he could be without being dangerous. Of course brain surgery by its very nature is dangerous. It was right there with the carotid artery, so one nick and it was game over. It’s so tight in there it leaves no room for mistakes or repairs. He’s not sure he got all of it, but he gave us a 99% figure which I feel good about. We have had lots of opportunities for gospel conversations which is a blessing. The staff keeps making positive comments about Katherine, our family and our visitors. They are seeing the effects of the gospel in our lives and we praise God for that. We are so thankful for your prayers and care. God is good! We heard today that just on The Fields Facebook page alone there have been 10,000 hits on this story of Katherine. We have cried a lot of tears and prayed a lot of prayers. I was struck with this thought yesterday. The trials we face are never wasted by God, let’s make sure we don’t waste them either. We continue to look to bless those we come in contact with and for gospel opportunities. Always in His grip, David and Wilma Fandey Day 1 after surgery Day 2 with baby brother Zachary
