They say Robin Williams was suffering from severe depression. People are shocked to learn this. Im not. Truth is, many of the comics I know personally have an issue of some sort. Including me. Before doing standup, I was on all sorts of anti-depressants. This has been therapeutic for me. I dont take meds any more. People dont realize that even though our job is to make the world laugh, a lot of times, were battling some kind of demons. Good day, bad day, doesnt matter. We got a job to do. When we do it right, there is no better feeling in the world. For me at least there isnt. When I own that crowd, I feel like I own the world. Im grateful for a great family, good friends and people who want me to put smiles and laughter in their life. There are still some very bad days and its a struggle to get through them. Still, I do it because I know my kids need me. I do it because I know, better days will come too. My sympathy goes to the family of Robin Williams. Maybe other comics had issues with him but regardless, he did great things that we all want to do too. Respect.
