They say….. “a picture paints a thousand words.” Most homes have works of art that do just that! Bearing that in mind, an exciting collaborative local art event will be staged by Southern Beaches Regional Arts and Sorell Council with Council offering an Acquisition prize worth $1500 as well as two further junior Award prizes. SBRA are also offering a category Award as are others, e.g Lions, Holts etc.. However we still need more.. This major Exhibition will take place in December from Tues. 3rd –Sun. 8th at the Sorell Memorial Hall, Cole Street, Sorell. Called “Bush to Beach,” approximately fifty artists are taking part… so far!! They are able to enter three works. With so many committed and enthusiastic artists living in this municipality, they need recognition. This is where Award sponsorships can make a difference. Could you possibly assist? Each Award is to the value of $300 either in voucher for businesses or cheque. The voucher could provide services, goods or other of your choice. The Award you give could be named “The (your business/organization) Award” or any name you would like to give it. A representative from your organization would be at the Awards night Friday 6th December to present your prize to the fortunate winner in a given art category. Your presence would provide a visible advertising opportunity. Your organization will be acknowledged at the function, in the catalogue available to the public and your participation may also be published in the local press. The recipient will also receive a special Category Certificate which I would ask you to present along with you generous Award. This certificate will be supplied and ready for presentation, with your name on it. Sponsoring a category winner this way would assist the artist greatly by adding prestige to their achievement. Positive steps are being taken to ensure that this major exhibition may become an annual event, expanding further into varied artistic areas.
