They say that reality is stranger than fiction. In this case it is. Check out this interview where it exposes the inspiration behind game of thrones and why the history behind this war is even more tragic, brutal and sick than the fantasy. (Yes for those that complain that game of thrones is way too violent, you should read the book. Seriously read it, its amazing and well researched and written. Dan Jones is good at what he does and he presents every character in the context of his and her era.) Although, the fantasy its also based on other periods of history as weve discussed (which include our favorite dynasty ;) ).
