They treated the word of God with contempt. The Lord rose up to - TopicsExpress

They treated the word of God with contempt. The Lord rose up to destroy them. Moses, pleaded on their behalf and let the King know that it was not the Israelites reputation at stake but the Lords who would have purportedly brought his people out of Egypt and since he could not take them to the promised land--decided to destroy them in the wilderness! The good Lord relented, but the 10 who brought back a bad report were consumed by plague. Second, the entire team that came out of Egypt were to die in the wilderness--only their kids were welcome to the land of promise. One year in the wild--commensurate with each day of the forty days spent spying out the land!? THE WORDS THEY HEARD FROM THE LORD WAS NOT MINGLED WITH FAITH. Talk of visiting the iniquities of the fathers on the children to the 3rd and 4th generation! In the new dispensation, we see Peter getting converted after denying the Lord--thrice. In his words, he talks of the written word being a guide for us that believe today and the danger of treating the word of God--contemptuously. Take heed child of God about missing out on his promise of the continuing City--Heavenly Jerusalem: Hell is real...
