They undressed him, tossed him up in the air, many times he fell - TopicsExpress

They undressed him, tossed him up in the air, many times he fell flat on the ground. They beat him up, his body was swollen, no one could recognize him, not even those close to him. During the night, he was put at the back of an old police van - Mellow Yellow, driven all the way from Eastern Cape to Pretoria, naked, bruised, bleeding, hungry and thirsty, he was then left to die. Call me a racist, the death of Steve Biko engraved a big wound in my heart, it can never be forgotten and it should never be forgotten. He may have died, but not in vain coz his spirit, beliefs and ideas still lives in me. To see a black child having access to education, roof over her head, to see a black nation living a decent life. For as long as what Steve Biko died for is not realized, what freedom is this?
