Things I have decided I love about London so far: You wont ever - TopicsExpress

Things I have decided I love about London so far: You wont ever need a car if you can learn the underground system, there are literally NO bugs here, their pastries are heavenly, Cider is very popular and there are all kinds of different flavors, accents are plentiful, diversity is the norm and linguistic diversity is even more normal, the immense and rich historical roots, the River Thames, everything is ridiculously CLEAN even though you can never find a trash can, all the men wear suit jackets and a button up shirt just open at the collar to work- it is HOT, Nancy P. You were right!!! ;) , they love Americans AND America, they also LOVE Obama (which is nice to hear everywhere you go), its nice to have people want to listen to YOUR accent, an English breakfast might be my most favorite thing to eat- ever!, the people are polite beyond imagination, sales tax is already included when you purchase an item, and I am sure there are a ton more... Things I dont like about London: no one is ever in a hurry- EVER, wifi is NEVER free ANYWHERE, everything is VERY small compared to the US (you should see the elevators - they call them lifts), everything is very expensive, you cannot simply go to certain places in the UK unless you have made a reservation because their country is so small, nothing is ever very hot (they leave the coffee pot on the table, which is nice, but it has no way to stay warm), drinks are never very cold, not even with ice, no man wears a baseball cap (which I find very hot on a guy)- havent seen one since Ive been here!, they seem to tolerate standing in a cue WAY longer than necessary, they are very passive with their words- yesterday someone had an incident and went under the train at the underground station. In the US, the announcer would have just said someone was killed. I havent quite decided, I guess, which I like better actually lol, I dont really like any of their television shows (although I certainly havent seen them all). These are just my thoughts right now; oh and I do love that I am planning to see a show in Shakespeares Globe tomorrow!!!
