Things I have learned when it comes to people: never ever ever judge a book by its cover, never think you know someone based on what they put on Facebook, and never judge or have an opinion about anyone based on what other people say about them. Get to know them yourself. You will find that you will either be completely shocked or pleasantly surprised. Some things and people are simply not who they appear to be. And always trust your gut instinct when it comes to people, its usually right.
