Things in Israel are going from really bad to much worse than previously imagined. Many of you have shown your support and understanding and I thank you for it. But some of you (you know who you are) seem to be of the opinion that Israels reaction to the rockets falling on us is excessive, or disproportionate. You seem to be using a special type of racist math where you tally up the casualties in Gaza and the casualties in Israel and you say more people in Gaza are dying! Israelis are not! So I ask you, for Israel to have a right to stop the rocket attacks, do we have a moral duty to die? And if so, how many of us would you like to see dead before your equations add up and you approve of our self-defense? It just so happens that each and every single rocket fired at us is deadly. Not like firecracker deadly, but high tech, long range heavy payload deadly. But we value our lives. We set up defense systems. We have interceptors that protect us (most of the time) so that we dont get needlessly slaughtered. In your opinion does that change things? Does it negate the attempt by Hamas to murder us? Would you rather watch us die? People in Gaza, on the other hand are different. They put their civilians in harms way. They use human shields. They force us to kill by putting themselves intentionally in the line of fire. They call it martyrdom. They consider it an honor. You say Israel is a racist theocracy or an apartheid state. But you dont say that about Hamas or Fatah? Why? Are you a hypocrite? Are you duplicitous? Are they not the very definition of racist theocracies? Do they not practice apartheid? Are they not guilty of attempting genocide? Ironically it is Israel the one state in the Middle East that is none of those things. Yet somehow you twist the truth and flip it on its head, like it is relative or irrelevant. Im sick of hearing people say things like why cant we all just get along? Do you want to know why we cant? Because this is not kindergarten. You cant expect terrorists and their victims to say sorry and then hold hands because this is not fantasy-land. Its the real world. So how about you take some time to do some self-examination and ask yourself why youre so biased against Israel. Ask yourself why you cheer for our enemy. Ask yourself why you try to strong-arm us with threats of sanctions and boycotts. You might not like what you find inside yourself in the end. Because to be honest is difficult and painful at times. But you have to: because life in Israel cannot continue with the constant threat of attack from our two-faced enemies. It is time to end this conflict the real-world way.
