Things not said can be amazing. In fact Jesus amazed Pilate, Herod and the Jewish leaders by saying nothing. He said nothing because He was not afraid. He did not plead for mercy or even for justice. Lying witnesses could not force Him to ask for mercy. He was THE WORD. He would not say what they wanted Him to say, nor wrangle with them. Pilate asked Him if we was a King but Jesus replied “You say so”. Rome could not intimidate Him. His enemies had this giant figure in their grip, as they thought, but in fact they were no more than puppets dancing on the devil’s strings. From the beginning Christ knew His fate was torture, mockery and the mangling death on the Cross, but also a predestined world-changing return from the field of cosmic conflict, having conquered death. JESUS CHRIST IS LORD! Believe it.
