Things that make you say...Lord have mercy. Ive been on a grand jury twice in my life time. Grand jury proceedings are usually swift and simple, 2-4 weeks. A foreperson is assigned and a secretary is selected. A few witnesses are called to testify, the prosecutor makes the case for an indictment and decides which witnesses are best to make the case. The prosecutor outlines and discuss the charges, the grand jury may ask questions and have the law defined to them, the accused person may testify and the jurors discuss the evidence and vote on the charges. The prosecutors explains law is there is confusion and ensures that it is the law of the land. Nonetheless because they are prosecutors the evidence is presented, as such to indict the accused and they usually you get an indictment and not a no bill.
