Things to know: All wireless communication is done through radio waves. This includes radio broadcasts, television broadcasts, cellphone signals, police scanners, radar, wireless internet and so forth. The lower the frequency, the farther the wave will go and the less likely things such as trees will interfere with signal. This is why a cb radio operator may be able to talk with someone thousands of miles away. At the same time, the lower the frequency, the less information that can be sent and received. The higher the frequency, the throughput increases exponentially, but the distance is shortened. Also, line of sight is needed for higher frequencies and obstructions such as abundant tree growth and buildings will diminish your signal and throughput. Many of you have experienced the natural dead spots with cell service and they do not need line of site. Many of you also may have noticed that your signal strength decreased with your cellphone when your carrier switched to 4G in order to bring high speed data plans to your phones. All that said, Nexgen uses a higher frequency to broadcast our wireless internet. This ensures you get the speed you need. If you live more than 6 miles from one of our tower sites or you have thick tree cover, your signal will not be as strong as if you were closer or didnt have obstructions. We can go through some trees, but the current technology does not allow us to push high yield communications at a reasonable price through a hundred fully leaved oaks. I hate that. I really do, but I cant fight nature, nor would I try to. It would kick my rear every time. So instead, we will try to work within the environment God created and ask forgiveness from those of you we cannot serve at this time. Diane
