Things you may not know about your pastors family, all glory to Jesus. On this day in 1981 I was welcomed to parenthood with the news that our newborn was having some problems and we would have to wait to hold him. I had not envisioned what the next six weeks would be like, his mother spending all day every day with him in the infant intensive care unit at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, and I joining her as soon as I got off work, and we would go there as soon as Sunday morning church was over to spend the rest of the day. They had three stages from critical to almost ready to go home, we became familiar with each, all the while being thankful he was not as critical as several of the babies we saw there. Several times we would go in and see a crib empty that had been occupied the day before, we knew what had happened. We had just started learning Gods will was always healing, and we refused to move off of that confession. Ignorant as we were, God was (as always) faithful. He was born on Saturday before Mothers Day, and six weeks later I received the best Fathers Day gift ever, we took him home. He has had no health problems since, except an emergency appendectomy on a mission trip five years ago. Today he he has the energy to live the life of five people, husband, father, youth pastor, business man and politician. Happy Birthday Jason. Proud to be your Dad. Just needed to tell your story, or rather Jesus story as seen through your early days.
