John pleads guilty and is fined 150 pounds and 20 guineas. 2. 1974: John Lennon appears onstage with Elton John at Madison Square Garden, honoring a promise he made that hed appear if their duet, Whatever Gets You Thru The Night, hit #1. The duo sing their hit as well as the Beatles I Saw Her Standing There. Backstage, wife Yoko Ono meets John, ending Johns 18-month separation from her, known as the Lost Weekend. This was to be Johns last appearance on stage, anywhere. 3. 1977: Elvis: the Musical , starring Shakin Stevens, opens in London. 4. 1979: Ringo Starrs home in Los Angeles home burns down. 5. 1966: The Righteous Brothers Soul and Inspiration album is certified gold.
