Think about it… each new day you and I live, the unknown - TopicsExpress

Think about it… each new day you and I live, the unknown future becomes the reality of today and as we live it, we shape our legacy, which will be handed to our children and grandchildren. The people called Calvary Community Church have been doing that for 92 years!! This weekend, we’ll again gather together in the legacy of building choices made 45 years ago. Men and boys, I invite you to our opening Men’s Ministry event of this year… tomorrow morning’s breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at Calvary. It will be great to be together again and hear some of what God did this summer with us guys as we lived the “100 days.” In Exodus 13 and 14, you’ll find the unforgettable account of one million people fleeing Egypt, even through the Red Sea, pursued by the most powerful army on the planet at the time. Movies are made from these chapters! I urge you to read it through with spiritual glasses on. As you and I go through each new day, there is a dark kingdom army chasing us, intent on capturing us and drawing us back into the slavery and bondage of sin and broken lives where billions of people still live around the world today. Notice what they took out of Egypt with them in Exodus 13:19! About 300 years before, Joseph, the miracle Prime Minister of Egypt had died, but asked that his embalmed body be kept above ground, waiting for the day the Hebrew slaves would escape their bondage and take his body back to their homeland, Israel! That’s Legacy! His coffin was a reminder of Gods’ promises to His people! Notice too what went before them (Ex. 13:21-22) as they stepped into each new day of living the adventure of freedom. Do you know that God is offering that to you? His Holy Spirit is ready to live with you, guide you, and empower you each day, as you live life as a Christ-follower (John 14:15-18; 16:7-15)! Finally… the exclamation point of their escape from bondage, the Red Sea in Exodus 14! Look at God’s purpose (Ex. 14:4,18,31), God’s promise (Ex. 14:13-14), and the power of God (Ex. 14:19-29). What do you see in each? How can you relate it to your life adventure and the challenge of being a Christ-follower in our day as we live in such a broken, enslaved world? Every time Jesus rescues a person from their sin bondage, it is no less dramatic than this story! It’s what Jesus is wanting to do TODAY all over our world, right where you live and work and where you are raising your family. This is our purpose as Calvary… “Draw and Connect People to Jesus Christ” so they can experience deliverance and become Ambassadors of deliverance! Are you all in?
