Think about this.... Who do the police work for? What do - TopicsExpress

Think about this.... Who do the police work for? What do they do? They write citations and make arrests. They serve warrants and do investigations. Who do they turn their paperwork in to? The Prosecutor.... Who does the prosecutor work for? Hes not there to get you OUT of jail. Hes there to put you IN jail. They work for the government. {first} The byproduct of their work (second hand) is how YOU benefit.... ie: taking criminals off the street. BUT!.... It is the government who they serve first. How so?.... Like I said: They arent defending.... They are arresting. Do you think its wise to put the government (police) IN CHARGE of the government? If youve ever watched a federal prosecutor during a trial..... He will often refer to HIS client as the government. So.... If his opponent is from among the people... then the trail of activity leads back to the police officer who made the arrest. So.... If the police represent the government...... then WHY would you EVER want to put the government in charge of the government? Ill put it to you this way: WHY would you EVER elect a government agent (police officer) to the position of Sheriff? You are essentially providing NO checks or balances into the system by NOT electing a common person to supervise the government. Does this make ANY sense? Youd be putting cops... in charge of cops...... NO TRANSPARENCY... NO ACCOUNTABILITY.... NO reason to fire anyone.... Well just suspend with pay when they violate peoples Rights. (or worse) THIS is why the Office of Sheriff is an elected position..... to provide CHECKS and BALANCES. (the founding fathers design) THIS is WHY you should elect a common person to that office. (ME) :D
