Think carefully: Freedom of speech/ expression/ printing/ - TopicsExpress

Think carefully: Freedom of speech/ expression/ printing/ thinking is supposedly, humanistically, theoretically, intellectually and philosophically universal to all human beings of the world in the modern world, regardless of skin colors, nationalities, native languages, religions, place of birth, etc.. BUT The HKDSE-NSS-LS subject is NOT universal to all human beings. It is ONLY available in HK. The point is: Even without the HKDSE-NSS-LS subject, we can still think. But with it, it is also acceptable but not essential. Dont blindly rely on a single subject or some subjects. Having a holistic and complete view of the world is more important than a single subject. I remember: The Chilean thinker and writer says in Spanish, “Los pájaros nacidos en jaula creen que volar es una enfermedad. (Translation into English: Birds born in a cage think flying is an illness.) Let me ask: 1) Is there a boundary for the freedom of thinking? 2) Is the HKDSE-NSS-LS a bird-cage subject? (Yes, the HKDSE-NSS-LS is like a bird-cage subject and I am 100% sure of it in my eyes! Many topics we teachers cannot talk and discuss openly in the classrooms. It is tacitly understood among the teachers of LS.)
