Think you can BBQ??? Lets see you prove it at the River Run Sauced in Tha Mudd BBQ cook off!! Only 9 days left...July 31 - August 3rd!!! RIVER RUN ATV PARK SAUCED IN THA MUDD Amateur BBQ Cook-Off Rules 1. Entry fee will be $20.00 to enter each Division. Registration will be held on Friday August 01, 2014, between the hours of 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm at Rocks Pit Stop. 2. Divisions will be Chicken, Pork Ribs (no country ribs) and Brisket. 3. All meat must be inspected, in original store package and in a cooler with ice, and must be held at or below 40 degrees. Meat will be inspected on Friday August 01, 2014, between the hours of 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm at the River Run Pavilion. 4. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be awarded in each Division. Guaranteed Payouts: Chicken: 1st - $200.00 Pork Ribs: 1st - $200.00 Brisket: 1st - $200.00 2nd -$100.00 2nd -$100.00 2nd -$100.00 3rd - $50.00 3rd- $50.00 3rd - $50.00 If Entry fees exceed the minimum payouts in each category then the payouts will be added to the guaranteed payouts. 100% payback on entry fees. 5. Cooks are to prepare and cook in as sanitary manner as possible. Meat must be kept in cooler and covered at all times if not on a cooker. Meat has to be cooked at an internal temperature of 145 degrees and kept at 140 degrees after cooked. Cooking conditions are subject to inspection by judging committee. Infractions identified by the judging committee shall be immediately corrected or the cook will be subject to disqualification. After the competition is over all cook areas must be cleaned up and all trash thrown away. 6. You may cook with gas, wood, or charcoal. 7. Each team will consist of a chief cook and as many assistants as the chief cook deems necessary. Each team will provide their own pit/pits to be used exclusively by that team within the teams assigned cooking space. The use of a single pit (cooking device) by more than one team is not permitted. All seasoning and cooking of product shall be done within the confines of the teams assigned cooking space. A chief cook or assistants may NOT enter or participate on more than one team per contest or multiple contests on the same date with the same team name. 8. Turn in times at River Run Pavilion: Chicken: 5:00 pm Pork Ribs: 5:30 pm Brisket : 6:00 pm Announce Contest Winners at River Run Pavilion: 8:00 pm 9. You will have Ten (10) minutes before and five (5) minutes after the time allotted to turn in your entries to judges. 10. Containers for judging turn-in will be provided. You must turn in at Least 4 samples. Example: 4 ribs; 4 chicken thighs, etc. All containers must be clean and free of markings. Marked containers may be disqualified. 11. Entries will be judged on appearance, tenderness/ texture and taste. 12. No food products are to be sold or given to public from cook sites. 13. RV and overnight parking is limited. First come, First serve. Electricity is limited to the RV parking area. Cooking will be allowed in your RV area or we will have areas on each side of the River Run Pavilion available without electricity and limited water. 14. You must be 18 years of age to compete. 18 or younger, a parent or guardian must be present at all times. 15. The decisions by the judges will be final. 16. Failure to follow the above rules may cause your entry to be disqualified. 17. This BBQ Contest is strictly an Amateur contest and by no means a Professional contest, so as always “Have Fun at the Run”.
