Thinking about my bestie Tammy all day and night. A year ago, she received the middle of the night knock at the door all us parents live in fear of receiving. Police on the other end giving her the most horrific news of her life. How do you bury your child, and continue to breath, walk, eat, and get out of bed every day. Somehow she has managed to get through this horrible year with a great deal of strength and courage. I am in awe of how she has handled herself and learned to live the new normal of her life. Her Son Brandon was her in every way, shared her love of life, kindness, goodness and was a true friend just like his mom. She gave him these gifts and the friends he had and their continued devotion to her and his memory are a testament to what an amazing mom she is. She has gotten up every day and helped her younger son get through this process and made sure he was okay even when she was falling apart. I am honored to call her my friend. Tammy, I pray tomorrow will bring you some sense of peace and you will feel Brandon all around you. I admire and love you and thank you for trusting me with your heart and pain this last year. I am always here for you. For all my FB friends, say a prayer for Tammy if you are so inclined. No parent should bury a child, and feel the devastation she has experienced the last year. If you get a chance tomorrow, do something nice for someone, go out of your way to be kind or smile at someone that looks like they could use it, you never know whose life you might change.
