Thinking of my Grandma today and missing her. I wrote this shortly after her passing last year... Grandma, You are an inspiration to your children, grand-children, great-grandchildren and all who knew you. Thank you for caring so much about each of us grandkids to make us our very own elephant blanket when we were small. Thank you for all the fun times we had at your house, the holidays and special days when you brought the whole family together. The way you “did” family is something I am so proud to have as part of your legacy. You taught us how to care for others and help those in need like you did with your sewing. You were an incredibly strong woman who was always ready to serve whether it meant make dinner for us when we would visit (love that chicken and your spaghetti) or help with sewing bridesmaid dresses for the girls, and so many other things your did that were amazingly thoughtful. You are an incredible blessing and will always be in our hearts! Your legacy lives on in the family that you created! It was so awesome to spend your last days here on earth with you. I know you waited a little extra before leaving so we could stay by your side and visit in your home with you and the rest of the family. Even in your passing, you brought us all together and reminded us how much we love each other! Thank you for all the memories, the heritage of serving God, your faith, your strength, your example and most of all your love! We miss you but rejoice with you that you are home with God and with so many others of your loved ones. You are always loved and in our hearts!
