Thinking of what else could be nice to share with you today, the first thing that came to my mind was my book for all times or a ‘book for a desert island’ if you prefer - ‘The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. (My friend Nermine just enjoys reading it). It’s my strong recommendation to all those who have not yet had the opportunity to get acquainted with this extraordinary masterpiece. The story takes place in Moscow during Stalins regime, which has some political connotations, although not as much as it is overemphasised. In essence, the book is out of time and space (which is required here ;) ), i.e. can be placed in any country and time period, the philosophical questions that touch the human nature, religion, beliefs, love, and the meaning of life, will always be the same. It is a beautiful work of literary art, interwoven with profound metaphysical questions and ‘answer (s) to the ultimate question (s) of Life, the Universe, and Everything (quote from ‘The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy’ - another great book of not so different genre as it might seem to be, at the first look ;) ). With this book you get (like in that popular marketing trick) 2 in 1, which actually means that this is the novel within a novel. While on one hand, in Moscow strange and inexplicable things are happening, after the arrival of Satan and his mischief assistants (who are not in fact as bad as they suppose to be), and so we follow their adventures interwoven with a beautiful love story of the main protagonist - the Master and Margarita, on the other hand, alongside is going on a beautiful saga of Pontius Pilate and Christ. And that’s all from me on that matter. If I managed to intrigue your curiosity, you can’t do much else than to read the book. And you will not regret it. ;) I’ll finish this literary recommendation with the one quote from the book: “Everything will turn out right, the world is built on that.” ;)
