Thinking out loud... Many times during discussions pertaining to schools on here, teachers have enlightened us on how bad crunching is in some things.. Things concerning supplies for students, restriction on how much paper or copies used or made.. Kids having to bring their own supplies and teachers spending their own monies many times.. Kids have to have sales in order to fund any activity and so on.. Yet, recently there was an artivle concerning the district acquiring IPads for students... Now maybe I AM old school but just what purpose do these serve?? Teachers scrape for supplies, budgets for minimums are tight yet IPADS??? We have already taken away the ability for kids these days to add or subtract on their own without a device.. Hell I dont think they could even count change back.. Now they get IPADS... Where did the days go of going to the library and referencing from a book??? Where is the old concept of thinking it out??? Wondering where to look, what books or subjects to use?? Now I guess they do not have to think anything out.. Just pull it up.. No money for simple things, yet IPADS and Training for the teachers so they can incorporate them.. What input do you have in my thoughts???
