Third inning outburst enough to give Tuthill Brothers an 8-3 win over St. Stans AC Tuthill Brothers, the Northeast Little League representative in the ‘A’ bracket of the Bay County Little League Championships needed some help from the Worden on Saturday afternoon to defeat St. Stan’s AC 8-3; Cameron Worden that is. Worden was near-perfect as he went 4-4 at the plate, scored three runs and threw 2 2/3 on the mound allowing only one hit, one walk while striking out four earning a non-traditional save in the process. The game was scoreless until the top of the third when Tuthills got rolling. Camden Fisher started with a walk and advanced to third on a Worden double. Jacob Pavlawk doubled home both runners as Tuthills grabbed a 2-0 lead off St. Stans starter Hayden LeBrun. Carson Shorkey doubled in Pavlawk and then scored himself on a single by Blake Mitrzyk to extend the lead to 4-0. Mitrzyk would then score on a Hunter Lauria single to conclude the five-run 3rd inning. St. Stans would respond in the bottom of the third. Ethan Huiskens started with a walk and advanced to third on a series of wild pitches. Austin Letourneau walked to put runners on the corners and a double steal went awry with Huiskens being gunned out at home by the shortstop Fisher. That would be a costly out as Chandler Leiterman ripped a double scoring Letourneau to put St. Stans on the board. LeBrun would single up the middle to score Leitermann but Brendon Salinas would strike out Ryan Weisheim to end the rally and strand two. Tuthills would add two more runs in the top of the fourth as Worden singled and scored on a fielders choice from the bat of Pavlawk. Pavlawk would score on a single to right field by Shorkey to take a 7-2 lead. Sergio DeLeon led the bottom of the fourth off being hit by a pitch. DeLeon would make his way to third and would score on a single by LeTourneau to cut the deficit to 7-3. For good measure, Tuthills would add one in the top half of the 6th Fisher and Worden led off with back-to-back singles. Fisher would score on a Mitrzyk single to end the scoring. Shorkey went 2 2/3 to earn the victory for Tuthills. He allowed three hits and had four strikeouts. LeBrun took the loss for St. Stans despite a game high nine stikeouts but was haunted by eight hits and seven runs (all earned). Leitermann led St. Stans with two of their five hits, both doubles.
