Thirteen years ago, I wasnt dropping my daughter off at preschool. I wasnt planning for my future. I wasnt working a job that I knew I could do for the rest of my career. I wasnt managing a home and family with my husband. As you can remember, thirteen years ago our world stood still. We were brought to our knees. Maybe, just maybe, what we need to remember as we take this day and salute our country and its people is that we need not live in fear, we need not hold onto momentary defeat. Its been thirteen years, and weve seen our struggles, but today I dropped my preschooler off for a very exciting day of learning. I drove to work. I hugged my family. America still stands. We proceed on. Lets hold on to the community that came from this day thirteen years ago. The unity that followed such ugliness. And let God continue to bless America.
