Thirty-four dogs were confiscated from an Apopka dog fighting ring - TopicsExpress

Thirty-four dogs were confiscated from an Apopka dog fighting ring yesterday. All of the dogs have received medical assessments and are currently being cared for at our shelter. They are currently evidence in a cruelty investigation, so they are not available for adoption. Animal Services is asking for the community’s help during this time of need. The shelter was close to capacity prior to receiving the 34 additional dogs. Those interested in helping the shelter are encouraged to adopt one of the many other shelter pets currently available for adoption. This Saturday, the shelter will be reducing adoption fees to $15 and will open an additional five hours.
