This 1940 documentary about daily life in Venice is longish, but fascinating. My favorite part is the little boy waiting on the bridge and then just jumping into his friends boat as they pass underneath! But also, just the difference in life in general. There were no cars or horses, hence all the baskets for carrying. And the kids in packs outside playing, folks watching the world go by from their windows, friends dropping by for a visit...a different lifetime.
