This BBC documentary is the first mainstream media account of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide to substantially counter the prevailing narrative. In its interviews with UN officials, with former members of the Rwandan military and government who are now in exile, and with survivors, the film deconstructs every accepted major tenet of the genocide as popularly understood. Of all the political issues I post about, this one is the most misunderstood and the most important. It directly pertains to more than 6 million violent deaths in the region, making it the most deadly conflict since WWII. Please watch this documentary.
