This Chicagoland article is making the rounds in Los Angeles and elsewhere Alma.... 30 people killed last weekend my understanding in Chicago... In the mid nineties during the time of the Rampart Scandal and throughout the LAPD, the precincts or area divisions were regularly experiencing an inordinate amount of homicides that were going through the roof.. Although little attention was paid to the nexus between police corruption and murders of victims, so called gang members or criminals, much information came out via the Biggie Smalls inquiry regarding the twisted relationships officers did have with the criminal underworld and elements. Of interest to ME was how law enforcement threatened, manipulated and exploited these relationships. We know for example that officers would sometimes drop off gang members or whoever pissed them off in rival neighborhoods. Not sure exactly how many times this happened... But there are numerous documented cases where this did in fact occur.
