This #ChildrensDay saw the launch of a unique handwashing platform designed and devised by the Delhi State Team of Save the Children which will be replicated in all 11000 Aanganwadi Centres across Delhi. The platform is: 1. Cost-effective: At approximately Rs. 4000, it’s an inexpensive way to promote hand hygiene for preventing diseases among children. 2. Portable and compact: Requires minimal space to be installed and can be carried around easily. 3. Easy to replicate: Simple design which can be easily replicated by anyone wishing to promote hand hygiene. The event comes as a part of Save the Children’s active support to the nationwide ‘Bal Swachhta Abhiyan’ (Child Cleanliness Mission) being observed by the Government of India between November 14-19. Panel discussions, awareness rallies and orientation programmes for children were also successfully conducted during the event. We are thankful to the Delhi Government for adopting the platform for promoting #HandHygiene among the children of Delhi.
