This Christmas will always hold a special place in my heart. Although there is certainly a feeling of grief within my heart, I am so thankful that a handful of people I loved dearly are spending their first Christmas with their God, and, probably for the first time, are fully comprehending what Christmas is all about. Mrs. Palmer, Deshaun, my Papaw Lynn, and my granny Hazel. I would give almost anything to be able to wrap my arms around my granny this Christmas, but that would honestly be selfish. She is without pain, she is without suffering, and she is experiencing a joy and peace we can only imagine. I am so thankful for the time I spent with these amazing people. I am so thankful for all of the blessings that I have experienced this year. I am so thankful for the loved ones in my life that have stuck by my side during my ups and downs. They are truly angels, and I am happy to celebrate with them over the holiday season. But, most of all, I am thankful for the greatest gift I ever have and ever will receive. It brings tears to my eyes to realize the pain and grief that God had to suffer to save me. The gratitude I feel for the gift of a relationship that brings me more joy, peace, and wisdom than anything I could ever imagine is beyond measure. Truly, it is this relationship that keeps my heart light and reaches down to pick me up when I have fallen, and trust me, I fall quite often. My prayer today is that those of you who have not experienced this relationship are at least one step closer to accepting this gift. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas. Remember to hold your loved ones as tightly to you as possible, as this life is but a fleeting moment.
