This Concert in the Church was probably the best so far in the history of the festival. Blaenavon Male Voice Choir, appearing for their sixth consecutive year, were on top form. Tenor Robert Urban-Nagy, reportedly big in Hungary, demonstrated he deserves to be big in the UK, with a stirring performance of favourite classics. Mystery guest, Laura Sidney, who intends to study music after A levels, delivered a poised performance of popular songs that delighted and convinced all she is poised for a musical career. The range and balance of the programme was near perfect.
