This Day in TV History: The Cosby Show premiered 30 years ago on NBC. It would become one of the most successful shows on television. The Cosby Show ran from 1984 - 1992, and it spawned a sucessful spinoff in A Different World. The Cosby Show was critically acclaimed and won many awards including an Emmy and a Golden Globe for Outstanding Comedy Series (1985). Guest stars included B.B King, Red Buttons, Sammy Davis Jr., Stevie Wonder, Danny Kaye, Lena Horne, and Rita Moreno, among others. Does anyone have a favorite Cosby character or moment? I was never a big fan of the show (or any sitcom, really), but Claire Huxtable was AWESOME!!!
