This #FlashbackFriday is a two-pic-post - ARTIST FAVORITE. . . one of my absolute favorite works of canvas as a clutch. On a personal note, Ive owned this skull since 1993 and it appeared in a sculpture during the late 90s. I wanted to give it new life on the specific clutch. Title: Envy Measures: Approximately 5 x 19 1/2 Materials: Acrylic on canvas, originally an 18 x 20 painting Found Object: Animal skull Lining: Vintage forest green scarf with ivory polka dot pattern *signed by artist* bethkeener Surrealist piece - Antelopes comprise a miscellaneous group within the family Bovidae, encompassing those old-world species that are neither cattle, sheep, buffalo, bison, nor goats. Most artists relate quite well as to not fitting into a specific group. I created the animal with a skinless face and shows what appears to be human teeth on the inside. The hardware is a type of animal skull . . . again, found many years ago. The creature has green eyes and the title envy... my thoughts are pretty transparent on this one . . .
