This Friday night at the home football game, the Opelousas Catholic Family will honor the 1974 OC Football State Champions. Forty years ago these four coaches: Coachs Micky Mills, Johnny Borque, Armand Castille & Earl Heintz along with 37 young Viking football players, made history by winning the first state championship in football for OC. We thank and salute these boys and coaches for all that they did in putting OC in the history books of Louisiana Sports. This is undoubtedly the greatest football team ever to wear the purple and white of OC. We welcome back home these Viking football players and coaches to Donald Gardner Stadium where they once played their games.
