This (I think) is going to be interesting for you to read. I have gotten the reputation as a person who likes to help out (where I can) sneakerheads when they get scammed at Solexchange. So I recieved an email today from a kid named Victor (might be fake, dont know) asking me to help him, since he was scammed at Solexchange. I offered to help, gave him my office # and asked him to call me. I got a call 10 minutes later from Victor saying he was at Solexhcange in NYC and was scammed, he event gave me his moms # and she called me. With all of this conversation I really assumed this was legit. I was compelled to go into my pocket and give him the $320 he was scammed out of since he knew about the show, he had detailed information about the Javits Center and I spoke to his mom. I was going to meet him today and give him the money, but he kept insisting that I go through paypal gift and I said Id feel more comfortable going through a company check from us so theres a record and Id be happy to hand deliver it or certified mail it. He then said he couldnt do that because he has school and his mom works so he might not be home to get it. I started to feel the sketchy sensations kick in as if I were being scammed for a pair of kicks (trust me thats happened before too), so I asked him how old he was and I wrote it down (he said 15). After 10 minutes I asked if i could call him back but then I called the mothers phone number that came up on my office line. She answered, I asked her if I could send her a check and she insisted that she works a lot and might miss it (same story). I asked her if she would like to pick it up from the next Solexchange Show, I would have it waiting for her upon her arrival, she said that sounds like a good idea ... I then asked her how old is Victor, I want to give him a free table and she said he just turned 18, he would love that. WHAT THE F*CK?! You dont know your kids age?! I pressed her a little bit about the age discrepancy and she said I have another call, can I call you back. I havent heard from either of them since! I like to help you guys out but if youre going to start scamming me for doing the right thing and Im willing to help Ill stop it all together. Itll just hurt the people who are in need of the help, YOU LAMES! p.s. your mom sounds like a Craigslist operator. Joe
