“This Little Light of Mine” Fundraiser is scheduled for Sun, Sept 29th at 3:00 PM Create your own solar powered garden lantern out of a glass Mason jar while raising funds to support disadvantaged youth in South Africa. Pam Ulicny, environmental science teacher, will help participants wire a solar panel, batteries, and LED lights into their own self-decorated ornamental jars. Each custom made solar powered lantern will cost participants $20. Proceeds will go toward Educo Africa, a nonprofit organization that targets at-risk South African youth in poverty. Free-will donations will also be accepted. Pam is also seeking donations for wide mouth glass Mason jars and decorations such as acrylic paints, glue, glitter, silk flowers, silk fall leaves, ribbons, seashells, ornamental stones, or other miniature items that could fit into an ordinary glass jar.
