This Puma was encountered by us here, at The Panthers of South Florida. We were in a ground blind, and we were actually talking about the lack of Game sightings, when we spotted movement in the hammock. The long horizontal tail keyed us in that it was indeed a Puma ! We began calling and called this nice Cougar in to 21 yds with nothing more than pursed lips mouth squeaks. We stopped calling once he began to close in, and called at him one more time as he tired of our game.... Enabling us to Look Him In The Eye once more. Although this sighting was Fantastic ! We unfortunately found a newborn calf killed by A Puma the next day, only 150 yds from there.... The sad part is it was only partially consumed.. About 30 % was eaten
