This Saturday, I will be celebrating the 15th anniversary of earning my BS in Behavioral Science and also the 10th anniversary of receiving my MS in Psychology. These are Mothers Day gifts that I gave to myself, at the ages of 41 & 46 (The Mount holds graduation on the Saturday of Mothers Day weekend) and they are my greatest accomplishments, after being a mom to Mark & Brandon. I cant squelch the pride that I feel knowing that I was strong enough to change my life. I know that many of my friends have the same accomplishments and more. But for me, getting an education was something that Id always wanted, yet somehow seemed meant for others only. Graduating and working in my chosen field, allowed me to look at myself with a new perspective and stop seeing and thinking of myself as a high school dropout. Ill be raising a glass or two.
