This Saturday, January 25, Venice Arts is proud to co-present a special matinee screening and interactive discussion with the filmmakers of If You Build It, the new documentary film directed by Patrick Creadon and produced by Christine OMalley and Venice Arts board member Neal Baer, Showrunner of CBSs Under the Dome. If You Build It tells the story of designer-activists Emily Pilloton and Matthew Miller to Bertie County, the poorest in North Carolina, where they work with local high school students to help transform both their community and their lives. Pilloton and Miller lead their students through a yearlong, full-scale design-build project that does much more than just teach basic construction skills: it shows ten teenagers the power of design-thinking to reinvent not just their town but their own sense of whats possible. Tickets are FREE for current youth participants, but an advanced RSVP is required. Email Scott to reserve your spot. Discounted tickets are available for parents and VA community members. (If youre receiving this, youre part of our community! Also feel free to spread the word.) The reduced price tickets are $8 and must be purchased in advance. Reserve your seat here. htl.li/sFk7H Cant make the special Venice Arts screening but dont want to miss this must-see film?
