This Saturday afternoon, in Nashville, 5 PM- Ill be hosting the first meeting for the Non-Profit organization Place of Refuge Im starting. This organization will be one which will hopefully soon be nationwide, but for now focusing on Tennessee cities that need homeless shelters. ANYONE INTERESTED IN TAKING PART IN HELPING IMPLEMENT THIS ORGANIZATION, PLEASE COME SATURDAY. My vision is to link churches, temples,organizations, individual volunteers, etc and then be able to provide consistent sheltering places for our homeless population. Nashville has a shelter, but other cities across Tenneessee have NONE. As I mentioned on my facebook wall earlier in the week, I have personally taken in numerous homeless and almost homeless people myself throughout the years, and I feel if there were ONE linking organization that could be sort of a clearinghouse to organize places of shelter, it would go a long way in caring for this problem. We need to PRIORITIZE making sure there is never a need for someone to sleep under a bridge or in an alley, that EVERY small town, every medium sized town, every city, has place(s) of refuge for those with no place to call home---Message me for location details. Needed: Web site creator, Media specialists, church coordinators, etc. Well need lots and lots of people with either a tiny amount of time to give, or lots of time to give.
