This Sunday at 10am we will welcome the Royal NZ Artillery Band to be part of our service. They are celebrating their 150th anniversary. They are the longest serving military band in NZ. The Royal NZ Artillery Association are also marking 150 years this weekend. The Band was established formally in 1864 and served through times of war and peace. Despite being disestablished by the NZ Defence Force in 2012 it continues as a volunteer band with permission to retain its uniform and traditions. The Band has a long association with St Matthew’s.
