This Thanksgiving is going to be different for me. After spending the last 10 days in Rwanda I am easily reminded of how blessed I am to have clean water, a modern home, and lots of stuff. But I am amazed at the hunger for Gods word that is evident in Rwanda. I have around 5-8 Bibles laying around my house, most of them collecting dust. But there are people in Rwanda who were chaotically surrounding us desperately hoping that they would receive a Bible. It was a precious object that they wanted to cherish. Oh how I had many days where I neglected Gods word and said, Maybe later. I hope to cherish the word of God just as the Rwandan people do! Blessed are the poor in spirit for the Kingdom of God is theirs. Lord, I am by far more poor in spirit than the Rwandan people. Help me to be more like them-eager to know more about you, and hungry for your truth.
