This.....This $#!& is what bothers me....That kid was an 18 year old MAN... ROBBING A CONVENIENCE STORE!!!!!!!!!!! whether or not he was armed is completely irrelevant...when you decide to commit a CRIME, you give up your right to be an innocent child. Was it okay he was shot to death? No. but WHY does it have to be about race? I HONESTLY do not believe there would be this huge issue if it the cop had been African american... What if the kid was white and the cop black?? I can tell you right now, a mile down the road there was a grandmother pumping gas who was shot by a black man....now, what kind of news did that get? She was unarmed...If you want to take it even further, what about Robert Ethan Saylor, a 26-year-old man with Down syndrome who was smothered to death by police in a movie theater?? Where is the justice in that? On August 2,2013, John Wrana, a 95-year-old World War II veteran in Park Forest, Illinois was scared. He didnt want to go to the hospital for surgery, because he didnt want to end up on life support. The staff at his assisted living community decided to involuntarily commit him and called the police. He threatened the staff with a shoehorn and a cane. The police came. They shot him with a Taser and and fired beanbag rounds at him. He died. What kind of news coverage did that get?? NONE. So,WHY did this man who was ROBBING A CONVENIENCE STORE get national news coverage, attendance from national politicians,and had his funeral streamed on LIVE TELEVISION!!!??? I mean, again, no disrespect, no he should not have been killed..But do you see where I am coming from?? Dont you DARE call me racist simply because I am white...I cannot tell you HOW MANY TIMES I have been discriminated against living here in Macon, simply because I am white...I refused to ride the bus when I was going to middle school in Bibb county because of the THREATS I received daily... ALL of them centering around the single fact that I was white... I can tell you RIGHT NOW there is a woman who comes to McDonalds all the time who REFUSES to let me serve her...Because I am white...she has said it straight to my face before... I am nothing less than a loving person..I love you no matter who you are, what you look like, where you come from....from gender to skin pigment, there IS NO DIFFERENCE...So why are you going to base your immediate judgement of me due to what someone else says? As a society as a whole, we should be more evolved than this.. what happened to a united nation?
