This Thursday at 7.45pm Medina Comedy Club Ray Peacock first came to prominence as part of the highly-successful Big And Daft comedy. In 2007, the Ray Peacock Podcast, led to the hugely popular Peacock and Gamble Podcast with Ed Gamble. Almost 200 episodes of the iTunes #1 show have been recorded including numerous live shows and special runs at the Edinburgh Fringe with guests including Russell Howard, Matt Lucas and Ardal O’Hanlon. Ray returned to the Edinburgh Festival in 2013 with Peacock & Gamble: Heart-Throbs, picking up multiple four-star reviews and subsequently touring the UK. Their show Emergency Broadcast was also recently made into a radio show for Radio 4. Also in 2103, Ray presented and curated a special three hour broadcast for R4 Extra exploring the work and life of Les Dawson, in which he interviewed Ken Dodd, Neil Innes and Lee Mack amongst others. Jack Barry is probably the only stand up on the circuit with a degree in Chinese. After excitedly stumbling his way around the stand up and sketch circuits, Jack then went on to support James Acaster on the UK tours of Edinburgh Award- nominated shows Prompt and Lawnmower. He has been a regular at the Edinburgh Festival since first appearing with student sketch group the Leeds Tealights who were named Best Student Sketch Group 2010. In 2012 Jack made his stand-up debut at the festival in double-header Your New Mild Friends and returned in 2013 as part of the prestigious Pleasance Comedy Reserve. Your club host is Phil Wang. Winner of the 2010 Chortle Student Comedian of the Year Award, the Comedy Central Live Funniest Student Award 2011, and previous President of the prestigious Cambridge Footlights, Phil Wang is rapidly making a name for himself as one of Britain’s funniest Engineering graduates. Phil has appeared as a stand-up guest on The Rob Brydon Show (BBC1), been featured on Three at the Fringe (BBC3) and has enjoyed a fantastic Edinburgh debut as part of the Festival’s longest-running stand-up showcase, The Comedy Zone, which has previously launched the careers of Dave Gorman, Harry Hill, Stewart Lee, Al Murray and Chris Ramsey.
