"This Wednesday October 2 at 5:30pm in the Student Union Cape Florida Ballroom, there will be a panel discussing the 2nd Amendment and the Right to Bear Arms. The composition of the panel comprises presumably of individuals who are in support of Stand Your Ground law, the same piece of legislation that provided the justification to pursue and murder Trayvon Martin. Senator David Simmons, co-author of Stand Your Ground, will be one of the presiding panelist during the discussion." We want to challenge the prevailing narrative and ask critical questions that are relevant to the communities that are harshly affected by these policies.
