This afternoon we lost a very much loved member of our family Oscar had Shared his life as a Bricklebank for thirteen years and thirteen days. He grew up with our daughter Hannah there was six weeks between them it was love at first sight when Hannah would try and get up to mischiff Oscar was generaly found to be acting as the lookout. Oscar came in to our lives purley by chance my good freind Phil was getting a German Shepherd and the breeder brouht the last two males in the litter Fortunely Phil chose the other dog leaving the last one that was clearly the runt as the breeder put him back in the box she said to the dog well its back to the bath for you my lad naively i wonderd why bath him her reply was somewhat unexpected. He was going to be drowned just because he was the runt that nobody wanted. Step in Norm and Ellens Overdrafts and we both got him he was a very timid dog and we had arranged to see freinds who lived on the other side of the country in skegness on our way back to London with a short stop for toilet visits Oscar included on a copy of the day before newspaper he peed and pooped and then got back in the car on Ellens lap and back to london Via Skegness once home he spent the night with us on the bed and for the last thirteen years nothing changed. Oscar you this family who loved you to bits even though you ate a 3 inch widestrip in Ellens new Nairn cushion floor in the kitchen or when he fell off the cliff at Durdell Door. Oscar I have Laughed at you I have loved you we have sung together Much to Ellens dismay well thought it sounded all right sceamed and shouted at you when you sometimes pooped indoors early in the mornings and I had forgot to put my slippers on and you guessd it hop to the battroom I would give any thing to be able to do that again. so i will just have to sit on the garden bench and have a chat and remember to try and keep my shed door open even in the winter so that you can come in out of the cold an curl up in the corner by my chair like in the old days mate you gave me and all of my family so much Fun and Laughter all of my friends Oscar old Freind I would gladly give up all of my bed to have you rolling on your back and happily growling you are going to be such a hole in our hearts if there is a doggy heaven I hope you are there having a great time and if you are able to come back somhow please give me a nudge mate Please Oscar 2001 2014 Rest in peace Old Friend.
