This amusement park has a very special place in my familys heart....My great uncle was the promotional director and writer for Palisades Amusement Park (he was a Nevins)....when we would go to the park he would have a special place for us in the back of the lot for our car....One time I remember seeing a big hole cut out in the fencing and children sneaking through....I asked my family about it and they told me that the owner purposely cut the whole himself to allow children who couldnt afford to pay to have the thrill of being able to sneak in....during my career in Atlantic City I met a gentleman who was a security guard at the surface lot of the Showboat Casino Hotel....He was the original security guard at the entrance to the park, who directed cars to specific parking areas when you arrived....One more bit of trivia....in the book: The History of Palisades Amusement Park, my uncle is graciously mentioned within those pages and I have an autographed copy from the author....Thats it!!! Im truly a Palisades girl
