This article has given me a lot to think about. I have been involved in social media for a few years now and it has expanded into an entire new universe. According to some who think of the dynamics of this I am directly connected to about 20 million people. Obviously some are very close ties and I have interactions with some of you virtually every day. Another group are like me, avatars who are working to try and save the world from itself. I had a discussion with Mikhail Gorbachev in Amsterdam a few years back and that is what we both agreed that we would spend the rest of our lives doing. Those who know me realize I am not a jazz player, working with a group to improvise some sort of magic music. In fact I know so many sorts of music and love many of them but they are just music. Music brings joy to our souls and calms us. In fact, we are facing the end of the world, literally. The way we are living our lives is certain to bring humanity to extinction. And so I have done what my life has always been about. I take on the job that no one else has managed to do. In this case it is to become an avatar, a source of truth. This is all based on the ancient, Western concept that the truth will set usear free. That precept, of course, was always based on the individual and I have evolved far beyond the point where my own concerns are of importance. Nothing about my own life or thought process is in doubt. Since 1970, when I began to evolve rapidly, it has been clear where the world was headed. You can read all about it in The Limits to Growth, where it was laid out clearly, more than 40 years ago, or Elizabeth Kolberts recent The Sixth Extinction which details how we will end our time as a species. I think that if we had, say as Chinese or Germans drastically reversed our course when Jimmy Carter warned us that we were moving beyond the time of no return and stopped all of this madness about fossil fuel, military imperialism, etc and concentrated on doing the things that are required to repair the enormous damage we have done to the earth... If we had stopped then and 9/11 had never occurred and all the rest, we might have had a chance. I have always been a precog, able to see into the future. It is a talent/gift I have no control oer and that comes and goes but it is always accurate when it happens. I see is that we are a runaway train but now I see little likelihood that survival as a species is possible. Last year I went to a Womans World Congress on Future Generations in Moab, Utah. There was a woman there who was a school administrator. She had addressed an assembly in her school, in California and told her students where she was going and what we were going to do. Then she asked, by a show of hands, how many thought there would be future generations of people? Not a single hand went up. I have seen and heard this feeling not only among young people but among many others for a long while now and it increases in probability. At first it was remarkable to be delivering a set of obvious results of a persons actions which were certain to shorten their lives and learn that they had no expectation of ever reaching my age and no wish to. They were adapted to our situation, something that does not seem to be possible for me or I would be doing as so many my age are. Ignoring the facts, saying there was nothing I could do and enjoying what remains of my life. I am unable to write off those future generations. I have accomplished much in my life by being realistic and working with groups of people. I am able to learn who people are and what they think and feel and can do and cannot do. Hence this is a useful metaphor to me. Ironically I am insulated from the harsh reality of the world ending by my age and wealth, and by my unique skill set and preparations and by the fact that I have no fear of dying, personally. In many ways I am ready to move on. I feel that we are souls and that when our bodies die our souls move on. I do not feel that we are constrained to this world in any way. The universe is vast and the possibilities are endless. How do you fit into this scenario? prdaily/Main/Articles/1b45e692-7e3f-4cad-b16a-0fefb5e592d7.aspx
