This article hits the nail on the head!! Obviously there are families where one or two or three kids is perfect for them, but why are people so shocked or rude when others choose to have large families? IS it because children really are looked at as a commodity to be bought? As an end to your life?? REALLY?? I find myself hesitating sometimes when people ask how many kids we want because who in their right mind would ever want at least 5 kids??? :P I feel that the culture in Madison is even more pro-small families than Lincoln was. I get the stink-eye quite often when I go out with three little ones, as well as the you sure have your hands full!. I wonder what they will say a few more years down the road?
